Sit,Stay,Read –Everything You Need to Know about Twin Peaks Pet Care

For pet parents, we know that every tail wag and purr comes with plenty of questions. If you don’t see the answer you are looking for contact us by clicking below.

We cover all of Boulder County and some surrounding areas including the cities of Boulder, Broomfield, Erie,Lafayette, Longmont, Louisville, Niwot, and Superior.

We are locally owned and independent. Our owners call Longmont home and our pet sitters all live in the towns they serve. You might even run into us at King Soopers, the farmers market, or on the trail!

All our employees are insured through reputable nationwide insurers for your peace of mind and go through a thorough criminal background check, and must provide at least two professional references to join our team. We are happy to show you our Certificates of Liability and Proof of Coverage on request.

We always do an in-person meet and greet before beginning service. We want to make sure we are a good fit for you and your pet, giving you 100% peace of mind that you made the right choice. We use a secure website and mobile app to complete a profile for you and your pet. This allows you to see when service is scheduled, performed, and read daily journal entries complete with notes and pictures.

At Twin Peaks Pet Care we’ve embraced a team approach to pet care. You will always have a primary and backup provider. Our team approach offers accountability, wider availability to fit your schedule, and the peace of mind that comes with expertise and backup in emergencies.

While some companies may choose to use independent contractors, all of our pet sitters are W2 employees and are proud to be members of our team. Each pet sitter is required to sign and abide by our Pet Sitter Expectations and embrace our values. We are Reliable, Trustworthy, Flexibile, Loving, Caring, Friendly, and Enthusiastic.

To ensure maximum flexibility, security, and coverage in case of an emergency we require* either a keypad or lockbox for entry to your home. We find that having a keypad or lock box provides easy and safe access for scheduled visits, and enables us to provide service for last-minute needs or emergencies. We can quickly schedule an available team member (usually your assigned back-up sitter) in the event your primary sitter is not available. Lock boxes also help ensure the safety of your home, your belongings, and your pets. You are in charge of your keys. You can find lockboxes in any home improvement store or we can provide one at the Meet and Greet for $25.

*If you live in an apartment or condo and have restrictions around this requirement, just let us know, and we’ll make a note in your account and work with you on other options.

Our pricing is customized to your and your pet’s specific needs and based on what is best for the pet to keep them healthy and happy. We offer discounts for extended stays of more than 5 days.

We do our best to be prepared for whatever cold, snow, heat or rain mother nature can throw at us, but sometimes we have to make adjustments for pet and pet sitter safety. The specifics vary by dog breed, age, health, and size, but in general on days when it is either too hot or too cold for a regular walk we take the following precautions; move the walk to earlier or later in the day if possible, stay on natural surfaces like grass, carry water and take water breaks, and when necessary shorten walks to 10-15 minutes and spend the rest of time indoors with either play or cuddle time. We will send a weather alert email when we are implementing our severe weather policy, and there is no charge for cancels on these days.

We require all clients to provide a signed vet authorization form that gives us permission to take your pet to a vet in case of emergency. In case of an emergency, we will contact you immediately. If you’re unreachable, we’ll contact your designated emergency contact and/or take your pet to the veterinarian you’ve specified in your care instructions, outside of regular hours we will take your pet to the nearest emergency vet.

Yes, our team is experienced in administering various medications including pills, liquids, injections, ear medications, eye drops, and subcutaneous fluids. We follow your specific instructions for medication administration.

Life happens, pet sitters can get sick, have family emergencies, etc. You need to know that these will not get in the way of providing proper and loving care for your furry family member. At Twin Peaks Pet Care you will always have a primary pet sitter or dog walker, but if for whatever reason they can’t make it our team-based approach of back-up sitters ensures you never have to worry about your pet being cared for. If your primary is not available we will notify you immediately upon assigning a back-up sitter.

All sitters go through training on dog and cat behavior including how to keep the pets and themselves safe at home and on walks. We have special guidelines to keep pets safe during severe weather such as extreme heat or cold.

All our pet sitters are experienced caring for pets in their own homes and at client homes. Many have experience volunteering or working in animal shelters or doggie day cares and have pet first aid and CPR certification.

It runs in the family! I grew up in my grandfather’s feed and garden store. It was my job to keep the leashes organized and the feed bins full.

I started this particular business after a long career in the corporate world. I wanted to do something that brought joy to people and pets and the people that care for them.

We mostly do cats and dogs but have taken care of everything from a llama to fish. We have done single and multiple pet households. Many times, we care for multiple pets of varying ages in the same house. We can give special care to the older dog who just needs some love and attention and take the younger pup for a long walk or even run.

Many of the pet sitters are also familiar with injections for dogs or cats that may need medicine such as insulin on a regular basis.

We understand life happens. Our policy varies depending on the service.
